What is a ‘Boutique’ Hotel?

It’s a fairly lose description, but generally means a smaller, independent hotel (ie. not a large chain), upmarket, with something a little different to offer.  Style and charm often characterise a Boutique Hotel.  We think our hotel fits the description exactly!  El Oceano Hotel has 55 rooms, suites and apartments, all individually designed, all unique – yet all very definitely El Oceano!

The simplest definition of what a boutique hotel is “a small, sophisticated, and fashionable business or establishment”.  “Sophisticated and fashionable”!!  We like that!  A word often used to describe Boutique Hotels is “intimate”.  We perfectly fit that bill!  Our hotel is family owned and operated and – as our regular guests are aware – you’ll often find the whole family in the restaurant, ready to welcome you.  We’re not just another soulless bedroom, we care about our hotel as if it were our own home.  We care about our guests, too, and pay extraordinary attention to the comfort and satisfaction of everyone.  It’s our reputation, we care it about!

When we say ‘beachfront’, we really mean it!  El Oceano really is, right on the beach!  Most of our luxury rooms and suites have spectacular – and uninterrupted – sea views over the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.  From the exclusive Sun Terrace, you can walk directly on to the fantastic Mijas Boardwalk (Senda Litoral Mijas), hugging the coastline from La Cala de Mijas to Sitio de Calahonda and beyond!  If we were any closer the the sea, you’d get your feet wet!!

  Open to everyone (although hotel and restaurant guests always priority), our heated pool has a swim-up Pool Bar serving champagne, delicious cocktails and more.  Take a dip in the Pool, then relax on a large double bed and our serving team will make sure you don’t need to lift a finger!  It’s the perfect place to spend an “Awesome Afternoon”!!  VIP Sunbeds, personal waiter service, towels, plus a few cocktails, or a bottle Champagne!  Perfection!

El Oceano Restaurant is in Miraflores on the Costa del Sol

One of the more pleasant parts of the Costas, Mijas Costa offers cleaner beaches and manages to avoid the crowds of other parts of this beautiful coastline.  The recently constructed Mijas Boardwalk, running right along Mijas Costa, gives to the opportunity to explore this wonderful coastline on foot.  We are right next to the Boardwalk, just a 10 minute walk to the charming little town of La Cala de Mijas.
