The Pool Bar and Gardens
an awesome afternoon at el oceano
The Ideal Place for your Awesome Afternoon
The Pool Bar area at El Oceano is becoming busier each year. With the exception of Sundays, the Pool Bar has always been open to non-guests, but as popularity increases, we are recommending to all that, if a table at the poolside is important, that you reserve your table, just as you would a VIP sunbed or restaurant table.
Do I Have to Reserve a Table at the Pool?
You don’t ‘have’ to, but it will ensure you get a table – assuming one is available! Many guests are booking a table in the restaurant, hoping to amble down to the pool afterwards. This may not be your best strategy if a poolside table is important. You would be recommended to book your poolside drinks table, too.
May I Eat Around the Pool Bar?
There is no dining at the tables around the pool and pool bar. Meals and light snacks can be ordered from either the Lunch or a la Carte Menus, but must be eaten the restaurant, or on The Terrace outside. If you are looking to dine outside, please reserve a table on The Terrace. We can arrange sharing platters for larger parties on pre-order only, but this needs to be arranged and agreed separately through the Restaurant. Al fresco dining at it’s finest!
Tables around the pool can be reserved for the afternoon (except Sundays), but a reserved table will not entitle a guest to use the sunbeds, or the pool. A pool bar table reservation is simply that – a reserved table for drinks.
Please do not bring your own food or beverages to the pool bar.
May I Use the Pool?
If you are a hotel guest, of course! As a hotel guest, you access to all facilities. If you are lunch guest and wish to spend the afternoon in and around the pool, you are most welcome, but you may incur a nominal charge, particularly during busier periods, as the pool is very popular.
The pool closes around 7pm, most nights.
The Pool Bar operates independently from the hotel and restaurant, so please make sure you settle your bill with the pool bar, before you leave to other parts of the hotel. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
VIP Sunbeds
Personal waiter service, fresh towels, a little more space and just a little… more! Our VIP Sunbeds are available to all, guest and visitors, alike. However, it is absolutely recommended that you book your sunbed well in advance. After booking, you will be asked to make a nominal payment to reserve your bed – especially during the high season when sunbeds are like hen’s teeth.
Sunbeds currently cost 60€ or 80€ per bed, per afternoon. A reserved sunbed allows full use of the pool, includes personal waiter service and plenty of fresh towels.
Drinks and snacks from the Lunch Menu can be ordered separately. Please settle your bill before leaving the Pool area. We can not add costs to hotel guests’ room numbers, or add pool bar purchases to restaurant bills.
Sundays
On Sundays, the Pool Bar is almost exclusively for hotel and Sunday lunch guests. The ‘Sunday Pool Party’, we say. Sunday is, by far, our busiest day and it is unusual for there to be any available tables around the pool. On certain occasions, there may be availability around the pool on a Sunday, but it is very unlikely.
The Sunday Experience at El Oceano is something not to miss! If you can join us, enjoy the finest, traditional English Roast Dinner in the Restaurant, followed by drinks around the pool until the early evening. The Pool Bar generally closes around 7pm.
