She did perform here over the Christmas of 2017 and we were so impressed, we asked her to return! Not just once, but every Friday for the season!! So Lucy, tell us about your background and how you came to be a singer?
“I am a classically trained vocalist who has studied since the age of 6! I have been privately tutored weekly since this age and I furthered my studies with music at college and later at University in London. There, I studied jazz and soul and performed in London based bands, writing, performing and recording my own music.”
What sort of music do you like to perform?
“Most people are actually surprised by my repertoire. I literally sing everything and anything from the 1920s to the present day. I have lots of different resident gigs at many varied places that require different types of music. In one place, I might sing more jazz based music and in another I will sing a whole dance club set. I’m not even sure how many songs I know and sing, but I’m sure it’s around the 1,000 mark! I aim to learn at least five songs a week, old or new, to keep my sets fresh, up to date and interesting!”
